Wappen Field 7.0 at CultureLab LIC, Long Island City, NY, March 7 – April 29, 2024

Wappen Field is a participatory sound installation featuring 12 chrome-plated steel helmets that serve as resonant chambers, transforming the sculpture into an immersive audio environment.

Composed by Michelle Jaffé, the 27-minute vocal work utilizes SuperCollider software to place male and female voices dynamically throughout the helmets, creating dissonance, rhythms and vortexes of sound.
